SIMON HAYES
Record in Office 2012 – 2016
as Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire & the Isle of Wight
The role of Police & Crime Commissioner is one of the most important in our structure of local governance. The responsibility to ensure an efficient and effective police force – to create a policing plan, against which the police police our communities AND to hold the Chief Constable account on behalf of the public, is a very great responsibility and one not to be undertaken lightly.
It is an important role because the right individual, with understanding and experience, can create opportunities to reduce offending and re-offending, so reduce crime and create safer more peaceful communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
